Let's float this one.
No-one else can see your titan's stats, only allies to whom you send your tac. Now that would make life interesting.
Possibly when a certain percentage of operational systems are damaged the message will be 'Titan is smoking' then 'Titan is burning'.
Just a thought. |

compromise between everything and nothing;
you can see the number of an enemy's systems, but not what the systems are or what the tech levels are... |

Or....as part of the augmentation, allow a scout to have a sensor with which it could 'ping' and light up one enemy unit per turn.
Wotcha think of this avenue God..do you think that it's got legs? |

Ummm. I'm not sure it adds.
i.e. Knowing your death is upon you is part of the fun I think.... |

Stops copy-cat titan designs... allows decoy titans... stop experience being known(?). Yes, I like it (thus the Phoenix kiss of death has been applied and it'll never happen). |

Actually, not really.
I can do this if a few more players shout out. |

it's similar to what ripspace has (though titan design is much simpler). I don't really care either way.
As a fair point; I have chosen targets in the past based on what I knew had or hadn't beend destroyed on two different titans. |

It has potential ... but there should be a way of discovering all the info on a titan ... say get within 2 hexes. That means if you want to know it's configuration you have to get up close and personal. |

My idea was for scouts to be able to 'ping' an individual titan and see it's stats....which would, incidentally, make scouts the integral part of the fighting force they should be.
This would seem to fit in with the whole concept of indirect fire.....spot the enemy, scout the enemy, bring in the necessary forces, destroy the enemy.
As was mentioned by Phoenix, this would allow for decoy movements to be set up at very little cost to the overall clan strength, and instead of sitting on a hill and laughing, the enemy would actually have to go and look to find out that that particular force was not really worth engaging. |

How do you define a "scout" then. what about, instead of a flat distance, half, 1/4, or 1/5 the scan range, rounded down. This allows those with better sight distances to "scout" better, but is still limits the distance at which targets can be identified. |

taking a simple idea and (significantly) complecating it;
identification range is identical to the scan range for a titan with a computer tech equal to the viewer's comp tech minus target's material tech. |

I'll say no to the complications.
Also the indirect fire proposal is binned for now.
So, that comes back to an all or nothing: see or not see.
I had a quick dig, and although it could still be done it will involve quite a few changes - eg you would no longer be able to view clan seen regions or ranges etc.
Maybe I should just say no for now, until the clan cost stuff is done, along with pure breeders. That's probably enough change at once. |
