I am not sure if the demo is working properly.
Do you need to purchase a ship before you can do anything and see what the various solar systems contain?

The demo is working if it's the first thing you do, maybe there is a glitch if you use it after a clear/restart?

heh, sorry for reviving such an old thread, but yes. at the moment, if you show demo after doing anything else (such as getting turn report, or even showing a demo for the second time) glitches will abound... not limited to the fact that the minimap is all messed up.

the only way I know of to fix it is to exit, restart, then show demo first thing.

on a side note, I believe tartarus demo is messed up as well... I see no way to 'advance' the turn like in ripspace

Tartarus demo has no advance!!
ie you can do even less with that one.
