are the "unknown systems" supposed to be showing as holds? I've got pegasus in a system and he's showing engine, hab, and holds... _________________ kill the messenger. |

The unknown units all used to be shown as Structure. The problem here was that really big ships showed as frigates or destroyers, because structure doesn't count towards ship rating.
It appears that it has been changed so that structure is no longer a hidden item (it shows where it really is), and all the unknown items now show as hold instead. This means the ships size rating is more accurate - I'm really fighting battleships, not frigates. |

I know what it used to be (and have alternated between complaining about the various incarnations of SS size wierdness and encouraging it- I still think not counting towards ship class is one of the stranger ideas implemented in SS's sordid history).
I was just unsure that it was now supposed to be holds. The announcement suggested there might actually be an extra "unknown" system.

All correct.
SS is now shown for exactly the reason given.
What sordid history!!
I think SS not counting for ship class is great - adds a lot to small ships v's bigger ships. ie they have a chance at least. |

except that they aren't actually smaller ships- they just count as smaller ships for size class. When multiple SS counted as a single unit (now we're into the sordid history ) they were *actually* smaller ships.
If you want a report on how smaller ships are actually doing ask Pegasus- he's trying actual smaller ships. _________________ kill the messenger. |

I watch his smaller ships ignite. It's like fireworks every day. |

-Laughing-
That would be my point.
They should die, but they should also have a chance to sting.
I've yet to see anything that resembles a nibble. _________________ kill the messenger. |

Thing with fireworks is there are lots of them all at once.
Unlike the single shots I've been seeing.
I think we should let the design be and see what players do with them. eg fighters as spotters and miners etc. |

ah, see, I have a swarm.
No problems- I'm perfectly willing to wait and see what the effects are.
they won't work well as miners though- can't get enough drone points.
Spotters will work fine, though it looks like pegasus is trying to use them as Fighters. _________________ kill the messenger. |
