The shielder is one of my wierder designs, and so far, pretty good actually. A forward shield absord tons of damage.

But, those gnats have killed it. So many small hits, and it stuck in a gravwell, unable to repair. The swarm kept sniping and finally, my poor sniper dies.

I concur. Just look at the damage profile on that ship. The amount of effort required to knock out that shield enough to destroy that last habitat is prohibitive.

Can't take credit for the bulk of the damage though, it was wounded when I arrived in system... and like a pack of hyenas I was more than ready to tear it apart.
