I have several maulers trying (and failing) to enter several systems- each system is an "always open" system or has mauler-rated currents... _________________ kill the messenger. |

Sadly Maulers are lame monsters now.
The best that can be done is to self destruct them upon the Galactic.
i.e. the outnumbering limit is now 13 pts. Maulers cost way more than that and so cannot jump in anywhere. |

oh. well then.
I can make my guesses why- but, if you don't mind, I'd like to know your reasons. _________________ kill the messenger. |

So would I actually as I've just started playing around with one to see if I could resurrect another of my old designs. |

could there be an outnumbering limit of 21 points at least inside homeworld systems? or no limit at all might be better if it's -your- homeworld... _________________ Live without honor, Die without Honor

Why was an accident.
But then I thought maybe a good one.
And as it was an accident, then yes, it could be that the limit is ignored for first ship jump in.
Having said that, a mauler stands NO chance at all against an equivalent pt cost in armoured cruisers.
Anyway, I will do that. |

That applies all the way down the scale though I imagine. |

It does apply, except maulers cost 21, while dreadnaughts cost 13. So, with the new stability rules I'll put in, dreadnaughts will explode less, so maybe armour will not be as needed.
i.e. it's a bit less clear since dreadnaughts can fire off HUGE drones. |
