Whilst I do quite like the fact that Tartarus is currently very large and "epic"... given there are only 20 of us or so actually playing now (tis very sad) perhaps the map could be reduced in size so that we're all a little more cramped?
Or if this is too complicated (ie shifting loads of titans, etc), how about JonniGod bringeths a bibical scale flood and converts (the largely) unoccupied regions of Tartarus into chaos sea? Leaving land bridges between any islands that may then form? |

No... okay, how about lift the blight?
Let the elders (that's me) return to the green and start getting pushy! |

heh, i think that would be bad... we'd all be annihilated and then you'd be bored again.
better idea, how about you start over with a new clan and try to survive in the green? |

I played with this before. The best I came up with was chaos sea encroachement. I.e. the east and south edges of the 'sphere' get converted to sea 1 hex per turn, shinking the map down to the 'ideal' size.
And then I decided against it. With a week or two of scouting you can meet and fight many others. You may not find their hall, but that is OK.
Obviously, a concerted player campaign to get me to do this could work. (ie map shrinkage), but one or two vocal players will not.

I'm not a monster! I'd leave you a breeder... so long as you called it "Phoenix is the best". Because I'm evil.
Anyway, I've made my decision now... "Greenwolf" sounds like far too tempting a snack for the Phoenix not to eat!
If the blight must remain, then the Phoenix shall downgrade themselves so that they may enter en mass!
We shall feast!

the breeder is running, the fighters are dogfood to give the breeder room to run
but now i'm spitting out little mini-breeders behind me as I run.. appetizers perhaps. |

it's been awhile since I played, but I always preferred to think of them as "speed bumps." _________________ kill the messenger. |

A way to increase clan density is to remove the restrictions on duplicate clanning. i would love to play a newbie clan but i am not willing to give up my current one. i would suggest that all duplicate clans be paying clans however to help prevent exploiting.

ah, but that would allow one player to field double the clan size limit, and send double the troops to a war. pretty soon everyone paying would do it, might as well double the clan size for paying customers.
gonna have to do as phoenix said, downgrade your army until it can get into the orange zone without being blighted
suppose that would involve spawning a new set of lower-tech breeders and then self-destructing your entire force as you replace them.
guess it beats starting over.
or you could wait till a few of us newbies manage to crawl out of the orange zone to blast us to little bits. |

It need not be that way. i would not use the two clans together for instance. It is far more fun to run them independently. i remember two clans in epoch one that were controlled by the same player. The Bulimic one won if I remember right. i have actually moved for an enemy when they were on a two week trip once and did quite well attacking myself. Honorable clans are honorable and dishonorable clans already dupe. There was a triple clanning in the game last year and it did him no good at all. |

i dunno.. if it were legal, i'd be too tempted to double-team others... even if running them 'independantly' i would know that I can trust myself to watch my own back.. which is more than I can say for most people i've met online. |

Double clanning is wrong, double clanners will suffer.
So says me. |
