Are you supposed to know what hit you? I took damage but it didnt say why, just that I did. There was a attack drone coming towards me, but its still there.

If you look on the last turn (space) then you will see a little explosion symbol (if you squint) on the ship outline. Move your mouse over it and you will see the attack nano on there. This attack nano will have been delivered by a drone in a previous turn, and it's now eating you ship, and crew.....

The turn that a drone hits you are informed who fired it.

SO I have to mouse over the attack nano to find out? It's already to late. The message bar didnt say aything except i had attack nano, I think the message bar should include you were hit by x, from X.

The actual sequence is:
Turn X get hit, nano is placed (but does no damage), message bar says who hit you.
Turn X+1, nano does some damage, message says what got destroyed, but not where the attack nano came from.

The problem is that you were in turn X+1 and had not noticed the hit the previous turn.

Umm, if that sequence is correct doesn't that mean you can notice you've been hit, spot where you've been hit, then flood the appropriate locations with defensive nano in order to supress the damage. So that when the next turn processes and you actually take the damage you've effectively cancelled it all out (baring the initially struck location, which will be destroyed regardless).

I think thats the idea Nova. Swarm generators are very powerful for that reason, and the fact that you can apply them every single turn means that terrifying shot Power 20 shot from your enemy isn't quite as bad as it initially seems.

What this means is that if you get hit by a Power 20 shot and your ship has 5 swarm generators, then the damage profile is thus probably around 3 or 4 locations (excluding criticals).

But this means that four Power 5 shots would do an equivalent amount of damage because that first hit is always guaranteed. And if they hit at the same time would probably do more damage.

(edit) take with a grain of salt with the new rule changes to drones
