As you get more tech you get more tech faster.

This makes it interesting in situations where I am fighting the frost lords. For a while I was growing in the orange at 2 tech per turn while he was growing in the purple at 5 tech per turn.

It seems there are two main stages to tech now. Race to the tech cap and live at the tech cap.

Am I right saying that at tech 100 you have to start thinking about your clan? Up until tech 100 you just have the max 200 titans running around (and turns take ages). After tech 100 you cant have the max 200 titans and have to start thinking about what designs you want and how many titans you want in your clan. Do you go with 200 titans of tech 100 or start to introduce a few brutes.

Don't misinterpret, I think that fast tech advance is a good thing. It gives everybody a change to get to the tech cap and experiment with different designs.

Actually I'd imagined a little more diversity than you are describing.

I know some clans are specialising with small clans of brutes.

Grunt,

Have you actually hit clan size 200 then?

I'm not sure I have as yet, as nothing has prevented me from spawning more units.

Admittedly I'm not actually sure how many units I've got, as of course the clan size indicator has gone now. I'll have to spend a few minutes counting my titans when I get home tonight.

The biggest problem I'm going to have I think with the tech difference between us is the fact that I'll hit blue tech first, and I really don't want to end up blighting myself twice.

The first time was bad enough, I thought I was outside the green blight zone when I hit purple, and it turned out I wasn't.

I got up to about 160 titans at one stage. It just takes so long to have a turn that I couldnt' be bothered breeding any more. In the interests of military superiority I should keep the breeding going but more low tech fighters just dont add much to my force.

Just remember that when you get to tech 150, which cant be far away, you will be gaining 10 tech per turn to my 5. Sounds like a golden opportunity to do some arse whoopin! (I cant belileve what I'm saying)

To Jonigod, yes there will be a lot of diversity in clans. Up until tech 100 I can only see one strategy: build the maximum number of titans, 1/3 breeders and 2/3 fighters, ratios will vary depending on preferences but the strategy is still the same. I also found that with so many titans I couldn't be bothered with different ones (e.g. fast vs strong).

When we start getting above tech 100 it really starts to get interesting. You really have to make decisions about how many and how strong.

I am just hanging out to try some different strategies against frosty nuts Smile
