Star Trek has spock.

In 2008 the new Star Trek movie is of the younger Kirk and crew. The actor who plays Sila will be playing the young spock.

Yep.

I don't watch either show, which explains why I didn't know.

Kirk and co are the perfect Epic crew.

Or rather the perfect model for Epic behaviour. They simply do better, and the better they do, the better they become. Darklight and Epic are an attempt at modelling some of this, giving a ship more options in combat, more chance of winning and so on - without a 40000000 page rule book.
