What exactly is supposed to happen here.

When a mine attacks a drone it reduces it's armour by 1 point per point of power of the mine. If the armour drops below zero the drone is destroyed.

However it also appears that regardless of how little armour a drone has left the mine is always destroyed even if it has attack nano left over. So say you have a mine of power 5 attacking a beholder drone with 1 point of armour, then the beholder is destroyed but the mine is also.

Shouldn't what happens be that the mine would be reduced to power three as it would have used up two points of it's power to destroy the beholder.

Given the way that the game is currently working here it's ridiculously easy to knock out mine fields. Simply launch masses of power 1 mines into the field and each one of your tiny mine drones will remove a potentially much larger mine.

In my opinion this is exactly how it should happen. Each of those small drones uses up mass, so it takes focus keeping mass scoops and drone launchers going, during which time you aren't attacking. It is not something one would do at random simply because it's to expensive, but still possiable if one has to get through a region. In addition, it requires that the mine field layer support their fields if they want them to be effective.

Basically, I think fields should be easy to destroy once found, especially if they aren't being supported.

Are you sure thats how its working currently? I shoot down drones a lot with mines and I'm pretty certain I've had a high level mine hit two drones on a single turn.

Absolutely sure. Have watched it happen a couple of times now.

What's happened is that drone of power 5 or 6 has hit one of my mines taken enough damage to knock it down to 1 or 2 armour points then struck a second mine which has removed the rest of it's armour.

Both mines and the drone have been destroyed in each case.

Not yet seen a power 1 drone strike a mine, may have to test this if I get a chance.

Well, if the drone survived the first mine, then that wasn't strong enough to stop it. Now, the second mine might conceivably have some attack power left over after destroying the drone.

What was the attack power of the second mine, and the remaining armor on the drone in your example?

Both mines power 5, drone being struck armour 6.

So drone had 1 armour left after first mine, second mine ought to therefore have had power 3 remaining after destroying the drone.
