Which drones reveal the position of their ship when launched? I know attack drones and beholders do, but what about mines? Scramblers? I'm sure gravstars do.
I'm curious about mines and scramblers, because those are supposed to be hidden in the first place. (Or in the case of scramblers, they are supposed to hide ships.) |

Only mines do not appear.
Scramblers hide a ship, but not it's actions. Think of scramblers more like a way of stopping new drones from targetting a ship.
The scrambled zone appears on the map - so everone knows you are probably there, and everyone will fire loads of mines at the region. But, with 2 or 3 ships scramblers become a real tool. You can start to hide larger regions of the map, leting your damaged vesel have a cool off period to repair, providing it is in silent running.
Note that this play test is also a further shake down of the rules, so if it needs to change (IMHO) then it may.

I just saw a Beholder fired from the middle of an area already lit up by a Beholder, but I dont see any scrambler zone. I saw my scrambler zone, but I think Fuzzbot just fired out of one, without it or its drone ever appearing. _________________ The Shadow |

Its already been two turns but what I saw was a new beholder, the previous turn showed it in the exact same spot with the path it was going to take, the current turn showed the same. The following turn it moved forward. This is simliar to what I see whenver i fire a drone. One turn it appears, the next it moves. So i'd say 95% sure. _________________ The Shadow |

Wait, were YOU in a scrambler zone? You said that you saw your own zone, and that the beholder appeared out of nowhere in an area already revealed by a beholder.
If I remember correctly, as well as enemy ship not being able to see you in a scrambler zone, you cannot see enemy ships. If you were in a scrambler zone, I would think it was perfectly logical.

N0. I had fired one previously only to watch it fade away all to quickly. That ship was in a asteroid field, but there was a second ship out in the open, and he didnt see it either. _________________ The Shadow |

I'm going to put it down to an early version of the server until you see it again. If anyone sees invisible ships (!) firing at them please log it as a bug.
