I'm in a system with another ship which appears to have engines, 2 habitat, and a slew of "Unknown Type." I'm just wondering what caused the Engines and Habitat to be "known" while the drone racks (which is why he showed up) aren't...
Is this how ships will always appear, or is there some extra method to the madness?

It is how it is supposed to be.
Engines and hab are know because your scanner are good enough. The rest of the ship isn't known....

k, wasn't sure if being closer or taking other actions revealed more or if that's how all ships always appear.
