I'm sure only those actually wondering would think of asking this... but when an attack drone hits a ship, it says that it will hit the outside of the ship and work it's way inward...
but I was wondering what was exactly meant by this:
1: it hits the furthest out unit on a ship from the center that doesn't have something else farther out then itself
2: it hits anyway where the line appears around the units your placing in the design screen
and the difference (and so reason why I am asking) between the 2 is that if it is the 2nd, then would it be possible that if you purposely have spaces in the middle of your ship design (no unit at all) it could register this as the 'outside' of your ship and end up hitting there as well.
on another note, when attacking nanos reach a space in the ship, and there is something on the other side of the space, is it possible for it to skip the space and go on ot the other side of the 'hole'?
I am asking this because if it is the first, and the nanoes didn't go through spaces... wouldn't it then be possible to have a habitat safer 'by itself' (connected only to perhaps a single SS or 2) with a ring of units around it, meaning the only way for it to get hit is the attack nano to go around and through the 2 SS and then the hab...
oh, and sorry if this was asked before... really, it wasn't something I'd expect to come up at all otherwise, lol.
(after testing 1 very weird design I found 1 of these happens... due to how it happened I couldn't tell which though, so if it's 1st it be bad to have holes in the middle of your ship...)
