I am new so this may just be player ignorance.

I had a system with 2 habitable planets but only 1 was visible and selectable. Today it became clear what had happened when the second emerged from behind the first.

This may be a bug, an unintended consequence, an intended consequence or the most likely, a new player not knowing how to deal with stacked planets.

It's a fact of a 3d render onto a 2d plane. They sometimes share hexes, and so become unselectable. It's a side effect rather than a bug I think.

ie there is no real downside - unless you want to bombard an enemy. But that is no longer the preferred form of attack really. Take out the trade gate instead.

But you were right to mention it.

It's a bit of a problem when the planet you want to colonise is the one underneith the second planet.

Nice metaphor.

I'm assuming it's a statement of admiration for our resilience and adaptability.

Rats would probably have been better methinks. Ice rats to be more exact, if I'm not confusing things.

something a little more annoying however, in one of the system fights between me, nosferatu and razornicks, I spindizzied a ship right next to a nosferatu ship, so fired a shot at it while moving away...

next turn comes and my ship is infested with lots of attack nano, but his ship has nothing on it. the only thing I can think of is because the attack nano ended up starting on the same hex as the ship, and it is also due to that, that I can't select the ship that turn to see what happened.

That is a fair point.

I think what happened is that the ship (maybe) bounced the drone away from the target. If you are in a high gravwell area then it means the drone may not have enough movement to actually move through you to the nosferatu and so stays blocked.

I agree that is pretty rubbish, but the only solution is allow drone stacking during movement. I guess that's not so bad, but may end up with ships masking drones that are behind them or visa versa.

Hmm, no ideal solution really. I guess the best is that clicking on a hex with multiple things in it would show both - and then you select the one you want. It would also help with planet stacking.

It's also a fair amount of work. But it is now here, on the list. Which is a good thing.

actually, I was just expecting to be able to click on it several times, each click going through the different things stacked there
(ie ship on top, attack drone in middle and mine on bottom, 1st click would show ship, 2nd click attack drone, 3rd click mine, 4th click back up to ship)
